The proposed legislation would not affect bookmakers as it relates to online sports betting. It would only apply to reporting the information to the NCAA and providing it to the public. Opponents argue that the bill would create a loophole for cheating which will result in the NCAA eliminating its power over the issue. The proposal is expected to come before the Rules and Circulators Board within the next two weeks.
